Who is For The Love of BirdsFor The Love of Birds is a bird rescue operating in New Jersey and Philadelphia exclusively for charitable and educational purposes of companion birds through rescue, care and placement. We are a 501c3 nonprofit registered in the State of New Jersey that is operated by a group of dedicated volunteers. We possess a permit from the State of New Jersey, Division of Fish & Wildlife for Exotic and Non-Game Wildlife Species Possession. Instead of one central location, our birds are cared for in private foster homes throughout New Jersey and Philadelphia, given a healthy varied diet and lots of toys, until a suitable and loving new home is found. Each bird is an individual and is encouraged at their own pace to develop a sense of security, confidence and positive interaction with humans and develop skills to succeed in their next home. More information on our adoption or surrender processes can be found under the navigation area to the left.

Ponch is fairly new to his new environment at his foster home, but in the short period he has been with his foster he has shown no aggression.
There have been no attempts to bite whatsoever.
Ponch has accepted gentle head scratches and is learning to step up.

He has sooo much personality and is truly a large bird in a small bird's body.
Charlie has a respiratory condition and x-rays show white areas on his lungs. He is on three oral medications, one med is twice a day. His condition is currently stable. He will be on these medications for the rest of his life. He is eas...read more about Charlie
