Joey is a suspected male Blue Front Amazon in his 30s. Joey once was handled daily and loved dearly by his male owner until he passed away 6 years ago. After that he spent his days confined to his inadequately sized cage until he came into For the Love of Birds. Joey now loves coming out as much as possible and has learned the joys of having toys in his life. Due to the lack of interaction and love that he once had, Joey needs to gain a lot of trust in humans. Joey does not step up nor does he allow petting as of yet. Joey has only been in a foster home for 2 months and we hope that time will help him trust again. Joey had a Veterinary Exam and labwork performed and is in good health. He currently is eating Zupreme Pellets and is being offered fresh fruits and veggies. Joey apparently has a large vocabulary and sounds that his foster home is anxiously awaiting to hear. He has so far said, Hello, I love you and laughed. If you are looking for a bird that needs some time/work to trust humans again and is inquisitive about the world around him, Joey may be the right bird for you.
