Hatch date: approximately 2021
Nicky is a sweet 5 year old, shy, Male cockatiel who came to our rescue from a
family that had 3 cockatiels.
They were kept in separate cages, but were allowed free flight time together.
The other two cockatiels were clearly bonded, and Nicky was pretty quickly seen
to be the odd man out.
He is picked on by the more assertive of his two housemates, and we think he'd do better with another cockatiel as a companion.
He still likes to be near them, even though they seem to not get along, which is why we would like to adopt him out to a family with another cockatiel for company.
He is not hand tame but eats millet from his foster family's hands.
He will step up onto a perch if millet is offered, but in the short time he's been in foster care, he isn't open to stepping up on fingers.
He is not aggressive and won't bite unless a hand is placed directly in front of his face.

He is eating a diet of chop, pellets, and seems to eat both without issue, although in his former home, he was fed primarily a seed mix.
In his foster home, he gets seeds just as treats.
He is somewhat vocal, singing repeated little melodies.
