Parakeet - Other : : Female : : Adult : : Small
Hatch Date est: 2016
Pickle #2 is a beautiful Emerald Green and Yellow female parakeet. She does vocalize during the day to the other parakeets and cockatiels in the home, but for the most part she is quiet and keeps to herself. She has been in with other birds during her lifetime, so would probably do well with other females in her cage. She is a very healthy and happy bird, however, she does have a condition called Brown Hypertrophy on her cere, which is a normal hormonal condition for female parakeets. This does not go away and is not contagious to other birds, however, it can be filed down by the vet if it gets too overgrown. The vet said that it won't cause any issues with her health whatsoever and does not require any special medications or anything. We are currently switching her to a healthier seed/pellet diet, as well as trying to introduce fresh fruits and veggies to her. She does have a healthy appetite and loves to look out the window at the other birds in the garden. Pickle #2 is being fostered in Rutherford, NJ and is available for adoption to a wonderful loving home who is looking for some really cute company and joyful little chirps to add to their household. If you are interested in adoption please start with our online adoption application at ftlob.rescuegroups.org. Other Pictures of Pickle 2 (click to see larger version):
