Nicky is a Special Needs bird and requires daily medication

Nicky is a beautiful 15 year old male cockatiel. He has lived in one home his entire life. He shared a cage with a female cockatiel, but they were not bonded. The past few years his mom's life became very stressful and she is ill. The stress has made Nicky anxious and he had been vocalizing a lot which aggravated his mom's condition and she sadly was forced to rehome him. 

Nicky is hand tame and so far hasn't met a person he doesn't like. He is very social and loves to interact. He likes to sit on your shoulder, chest or knee.  The past few years he spent all his time in his cage, but loves coming out now. . He had been in quarantine in a room by himself, but now is in the same room as other cockatiels and seems to like the company. He has not shown any aggression to the other birds who came over to his cage to meet him. 

Nicky loves head scratch inside or outside of his cage. He is definitely trying to talk, but his foster mom can't yet understand him. Nicky is a very sweet loving bird. He loves to give kisses. 

Nicky injured his right foot when he was a nestling and it is balled up bit. His left foot also looks to have been injured in the past. He gets around his cage pretty well, but has some difficulty perching. His cage is outfitted with two flat perches and a rope perch. 

Nicky visited the vet to get checked out and in addition to his foot issues, he appears to have had a fractured leg in his past. Considering all of this, he walks around very well. Due to his past injuries and likely arthritis, he is on pain medicine. He doesn't like taking it, but it seems to be making him more comfortable.
