Zorro is our adoptable 15 year old (suspected) male Black Headed Caique. Zorro enjoys playing with pulley toys, being sprayed with water and hanging out on his playstand.

Zorro has had a male caregiver his entire life and does prefer men handling him but is learning very quickly that he can trust women too. Zorro has lived with other birds and dogs his entire life and does not seem phased by the cats in his foster home. Due to his caregiver gender preference he would do best in a home without young children. At one point of his life he did pluck however has not attempted to since coming to For the Love of Birds

Like most caiques Zorro prefers to walk around instead of flying making him curious about open doors, cabinets and wires. By nature Caiques are strong, beefy and beak-y meaning they use their beaks to communicate and play. Due to this sometimes their beak may hurt you however it not a sign of aggression.

Zorro has had annual wellness visits with an avian veterinarian throughout his life. He is also microchipped. 

Zorro is a quieter caique and does know some funny sounds like laughing, cell phone noises and clicks.

Zorro is being fostered in Bloomfield, NJ.
