Seaweed is a 7 yr old male Eclectus who would love nothing more than to sit on your shoulder and hang out with you all day long. He is happiest when he's hanging out with his owner. Seaweed began plucking 6 months ago when unforeseen health issues struck one of his family members. Due to his family’s emotional environment and not being around as much as Seaweed liked, he decided to pluck. We hope that once he finds his forever family that will give him the endless attention that he desires his feathers will return to the beautiful vibrant green they once were. Seaweed has been on a healthy diet of Zupreme Natural for a year now along with chop, fresh fruits, and veggies. He recently had a full blood panel and fecal gram stain at the Vet which showed good health. He is also disease tested with negative results.

Seaweed gravitates to men, but usually will “come on(his form of Step Up)” to those he feels comfortable.
Seaweed has displayed a few phrases such as, “Tickle Tickle” and “Seeeaaaweed” when he is not being watched. He also does make a few other comical and some not some comical sounds.
Seaweed does not mind the company of his foster families large, quiet dogs, cat, or bunnies. He enjoys the sounds of his bird roommates, but does not get along with them if they come near him or his cage. Seaweed gets a bit nervous around toddlers so would ideally do best with children over 5.

Seaweed is being fostered in Jefferson Township, NJ. As do all our medium to large birds, he does require 3 visits before a possible adoption, so please make note of the distance from your home to the foster’s home. We will never under any circumstance ship one of our beloved birds.
