Beautiful , young, only 14 months old, Ruppell Parrot , sex unkown
Handtame, but a bit fearful of the new hands being offered. Very quiet , so far, clicking and a coo here and there .
A bit fiesty at times, definitly NEEDS someone that has the time and knowledge to train a young bird. Learning right from wrong, and how to behave when meeting other people and other animals is something that is definitly lacking .
Not a bird for a novice.
She is a small bird with a fierce personallity !
Likes to have her head and neck scratched, but not willing to sit on your shoulder at this point .
On a very healthy diet of pellets and fresh food, with occasional seed for a treat .
Seems to like women , but hard to tell if this will continue . Again very young and we will have to learn as time goes on .
Loves to come out of the cage climb around, and spend time on her wood table top perch.
Doesn't understand sharing with other birds quite yet, and can get a bit pushy if she is allowed to .
She will try to go on other birds cages (a Cockatiel at her foster home) to see what he has that is different in his cage . Will be a bit of a bully to other birds if it means she can't get what she wants .
She (not sure if female) is a hopper, she hops from place to place. Wings are clipped, but likes to get to higher places If there is something close to her that allows her to climb up , she will
Being fostered in Leonardo, NJ For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout the state of NJ; we do not have a central location. We require that our adopters be driving distance from a birds foster home as we do not ship our birds. Due to our adoptable birds being fostered in private homes we only allow approved adoption applicants to make visits.
