Tico is an adorable Parrotlet. Tico is believed to be male, but has not been DNA sexed. 

Tico has had two previous owners. His last owner was a young man whose job recently required that he start traveling a lot. This was not fair to Tico who loves attention and interacting with his person. He lived with his previous owner for 2 years. 

Tico is very feisty and very funny. He will be playing quietly in his cage, but if you walk in the room, he chatters loudly and climbs to the front of the cage to be with you. As soon as I open the cage door, Tico is out of the cage and waiting to interact. He steps up very well, but sometimes will nip a little when he steps up. But that is only for a couple of nips, and then he stops. He will also fly to his foster mom if she doesn't ask him to step up quick enough for his liking. Tico flies very well. 

He likes hanging out with his foster mom to help her work on the laptop or eat a peach or something else yummy. He would do best in a home with a family where he is not left home alone for more than a few hours. His foster mom put cartoons on for him when he is in the room by himself. 

Tico is currently being fostered in Philadelpha, PA and will require at least two visits prior to adoption.

For the Love of Birds is a dedicated group of foster homes throughout NJ and Philadelpha area. We will only adopt Tico to a forever home within easy driving distance to a bird's foster home. We do not ship our birds. Due to our adoptable birdsbeing fostered in volunteer's homes we only allow approved adoption applicants to make visits.
