About Lovie | |

Meet Lovie, a White Ring-Neck or Java Dove. As with all doves, Lovie's coo is very melodic and will be heard throughout the day, especially when she feels out-talked by the other birds in her foster home: a Green-Cheek Conure and a Hahn's Macaw. She doesn't usually come out of her house, but on the rare occasion she does, Lovie will fly around once or twice then flutter to the floor - at which time she can be easily picked up and returned home. As for baths, Lovie likes to be misted.

Doves require special habitats and diets. Since in foster care, Lovie has been on a dove seed diet supplemented with an oyster and eggshell grit and CHOP. She also enjoys millet as a treat.
Lovie is currently being fostered in Manahawkin, NJ and will only be adopted to a forever home within easy driving distance of the foster home. For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Philadelpha, we have no central location. As our adoptable birds are being fostered in our volunteer's homes we only allow approved adoption applicants to make visits prior to adopting. We will not ship our birds.
