Lovebird / Budgie/Budgerigar : : Young
Hatch Date: Approx 2014 - Mango Female Lovebird Approx 2016 - Sunflower Male Budgie Mango and Sunflower came into the rescue from separate homes and at separate times. However, they quickly became friends and now hang out together. When one flies to another perch or cage, the other follows. They are so precious together that they will be adopted out together. Mango is an adorable confirmed female Lovebird who is full of spunk, energy and happiness. Mango is very spunky and mischievous. She is not hand tame. She is a vocal girl and loves being outside of her cage and flying around with the other little foster birds - budgies and cockatiels, especially Sunflower. We do not know her exact age, however she has laid eggs. Mango was adopted in the hopes she would get along with the family's existing two small birds. After quarantine, Mango was introduced to the other two birds. Mango wanted to hang out with them, but they were not having it. One little budgie was probably overwhelmed by her high energy. And the laid back other bird didn't want to be bothered with her. So she was returned to her foster home. This is why we are so excited she now has a mutual friendship with Sunflower. Mango has just started laying eggs, but her foster mom is increasing hours of darkness and hoping her hormones will drop and she will lose interest in her eggs. Sunflower is a stunning yellow male budgie. He is not hand tame, but does very well with the other small birds in his foster home. He is a strong flier and likes to come out of his cage to fly around the room. Mango and Sunflower are being fostered in Hightstown, NJ and will only be adopted to a forever home within driving distance to her foster home; we do not ship our birds. For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout New Jersey and Philadelphia, we have no central location. As our adoptable birds are begin cared for in our volunteers’ homes we only allow approved applicants to make visits. If interested in adopting Mango and Sunflower, please complete an adoption application on our website ftlob.rescuegroups.org.
