Meet Sky, the spunky lovebird!
Sky is an active, curious, playful girl who loves being out of her cage. She is very sociable and wants to be wherever her person is — she flies right to her foster mom as soon as she opens the cage. Most of the time she’s exploring her surroundings and finding fun things to chew on, but when she’s in a particularly mellow mood he sometimes cuddles up in her foster mom’s shirt sleeve or collar. She also loves taking baths. Sky will step up on her own terms but sometimes can be nippy.
Sky is estimated to be about 4 years old and is presumed female. She previously lived in a family with several children, but unfortunately the family is no longer able to give Sky the time and attention she deserves. Sky’s previous family says that she has a preference for males, although she is friendly with females as well.
Sky was previously fed a millet-sunflower seed mixture, but she is transitioning to a diet of zupreme pellets while in foster care. Her foster mom is trying to figure out her favorite fruits and vegetables but at the moment she doesn’t show much interest in them.
Sky is currently being fostered in Philadelphia, PA and will only be adopted to a forever home within easy driving distance to Sky's foster home; we will not ship birds. For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes across NJ and Philadelphia - we have no central location. As birds are being cared for in our volunteer's homes we only allow visits with approved adopters.
