Big Boy is a sweet 17 year old senior male cockatiel. He lost his cage mate two months ago and has not been acting himself since. He no longer enjoys spray baths and calls for his buddy. His parents both work full time and have many cats so don't have the time to spend with him that he craves. 

Being where the action is and interacting with his buddy and his humans is what he likes. He is a great whistler and would whistler back and forth with his owner. 

Big Boy is full flighted and is an adept flier. He doesn't like to step up on hands, but will step up on a stick or his ladder. You do have to be careful when opening his cage, because he will dart out quickly. 

He came into his foster home less than a week ago but has adjusted very well. He has stepped up for his foster mom onto his ladder. He will also fly near her and will come right up to her when he is in his cage or on top of his cage. His foster mom is working with him to further gain his trust. 

Big Boy would do best in a home with other cockatiels or small birds. He is very social. 

He is being fostered in Hightstown, NJ.  and will only be adopted to a forever home within driving distance to his foster home; we do not ship our birds. For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout New Jersey and Philadelphia, we have no central location. As our adoptable birds are being cared for in our volunteers’ homes only approved applicants are allowed to make visits.
