Wilson (blue): male, 7, nearly 8 years old. Hatch date approximately mid-late 2012.

Dennis (green): male, 6 years old. Hatch date approximately 2013. 

 

Wilson and Dennis are a handsome and dynamic duo who have lived together for nearly 6 years. Both enjoy being talked to, playing with their mirrors, and singing and chattering throughout the day (Dennis also very much enjoys scolding Wilson for leaving his side).

 

These two are not hand tame, but Wilson will readily eat seed or millet from an outstretched palm. Dennis follows Wilson’s guidance and will eat from a hand given enough time, and if you’re lucky you may be honored with someone's foot holding onto a finger or a gentle nibble. 

 

Wilson and Dennis came to FTLOB on an all seed diet but have readily taken to sampling a variety of leafy greens and fresh herbs, and some vegetables. Their motto seems to be: if it’s green and leafy, it’s worth a try. Their foster mom is working to convince them that pellets are also acceptable food. 

 

They would do well in a home where they can be given time to outside of the cage in a safe environment and where they can continue to build confidence in new experiences. They are unperturbed by loud noises or the presence of other birds in the home and would likely enjoy having feathered company. 

Wilson and Dennis have been disease tested and will be adopted with their cage, toys and food to get their forever home started.

Wilson and Dennis are being fostered in Upper Darby, PA and will only be adopted to a forever home within driving distance as we will not ship our birds. For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern Pennsylvania - we have no central location. As our adoptable birds are living in volunteer homes, we will only allow approved applicants to meet them.
