Lovebird : : Young
Sugar is a 3yo female lovebird. She is not hand tame but is very energetic, loves flying and being around people and other birds. Sugar is happy to hang out on your shoulder or chest and readily accepts millet from your hand. Sugar was with her clutch-mate her entire life however he unexpectedly passed away, leaving Sugar very sad and confused. Shortly after her brother's death she started plucking her chest as she misses him very much. As such it is ideal for Sugar's forever home to have another social bird of the same gender. We will not adopt her out to another home with a male lovebird - no exceptions. Her foster home is working to transition her to a healthy pellet diet as she has only been offered seed her entire life. She loves bopping around with toys and swings. Sugar especially loves toys she can shred. Sugar has been disease tested for PBFD and Chlamydia. She will be adopted with her cage, disease test results, toys and food to get her forever home started. Sugar is being fostered in Bloomfield, NJ and will only be adopted to a forever home within driving distance, we do not ship our birds. For the Love of Birds is a group of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA - we do not have a central location. As Sugar is living in a volunteer's home, we only allow approved applicants to make visits. If interested in adopting Sugar please visit our website ftlob.rescuegroups.org to read our adoption policies & procedures and to complete an adoption application.
