Angel is a 16yo , male, Congo African Grey.

He is a very unusual bird , being he had a ruff start (living conditions) but 
he has not become bitter about it . He is very calm, gentle, and has a nice 
vocabulary (mostly sounds ). 
He doesn't seem to favor males over females, he just likes who is willing to 
give him the more attention . 
No been around small children , so not sure how he would be around them.

He was NOT hand tame when he arrived .
He does NOT know how to step up , even on a perch :( 
He will allow you to "Chicken grab him " and will not put up a fight if done right :) 

He is doing well with stepping up now , learning he can trust people and they will 

hold him tight :) 

This is not your cuddly companion bird, he will NOT sit on your shoulder and 
walk around the house with you .

He is in a foster home with other birds , and seems very comfortable with them.
Everyone stays on their own cages.

He loves to be out of his cage , will sit nicely on a stand, but will also climb down 
on to the floor and go on mini adventures around the house. 

He needs to be supervised on these excursions as he is now learning how to chew
on wood things (walls, furniture, etc ): 
Which is odd, being he does not play or chew on wood toys in his cage :{

He needs to be watched around other birds, as he thinks he can just climb up 
on their cages , and some of them might not like that ;)

He will need someone with a bit of experience , to continue training on step up , 

and learning what are proper toys is a MUST !

He has a new diet of ZuPreem Pellets, nuts , and an all fresh food mix .
He loves Banana chips , and that is working well as training treats .

Angel has been disease tested for PBFD and Chlamydia, has also been seen by an Avian vet .
Angel will be adopted with his cage, disease test results, toys and food to get her forever home started. He requires at least three visits prior to adoption.

Angel is being fostered in Leonardo, NJ and will only be adopted to a forever home within driving distance, we do not ship our birds.
For the Love of Birds is a group of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA - we do not have a central location.
As Angel is living in a volunteer's home, we only allow approved applicants to make visits.
