About Beanie

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Bird
  • General Color: White

Hatch Date: 2008

Beanie is a white, male, senior budgie. He had a cage buddie for a few years, but has been alone for quite some time. Being 12 years old, Beanie is an older boy.  However, he is bright and alert and very sweet. He flies very well and gets around in his cage like a much younger guy.

Beanie had been confined in his cage for the last 10 years. In his foster home he prefers staying in his cage, but will sometimes step up on a ladder to come out of his cage. He has stepped up on his foster mom's finger and sat on her shoulder. Beanie shares a room with several senior cockatiels who like visiting him on or in his cage. Beanie does not appear to be the least bit bothered by their visits and sometimes will fly into their cage or hang out with them.  Given his age, we would only adopt him out to a home with no birds or senior birds.

Beanie has been disease tested for PBFD and Chlamydia. Beanie will be adopted with his cage, disease test results, toys and food to get his forever home started.

Beanie is being fostered in Hightstown, NJ and will only be adopted to a forever home within driving distance, we do not ship our birds. For the Love of Birds is a group of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA - we do not have a central location. As Beanie is living in a volunteer's home, we only allow approved applicants to make visits. If interested in adopting Beanie please visit our website ftlob.rescuegroups.org to read our adoption policies & procedures and to complete an adoption application.
