Grape is a 34yo suspected male Blue Crown Conure. Although getting up there in age he is still very active and loves exploring his new enclosure.

Grape came to For the Love of Birds after not being his previous family's priority for many, many years. Now with love, sunshine, good diet and proper husbandy Grape is thriving! He loves being talked to and saying his own version of "HI" - but it sounds more like BLAH, and HELLO or HELLOOOOOOO. He gets very excited hearing Hola and Ova (grape in Spanish). He has been around birds his entire life and gets very excited hearing and seeing the other birds in his foster home. Grape loves fruited Zupreem and you guessed it - skinless green grapes! They are his absolute favorite and anxiously awaits his morning treat!

His new enclosure has many different size and texture perches to help keep his chest muscles strong and feet healthy. He has recently discovered the joys of climbing on the top of his cage and hanging out! He sometimes will fly to be closer to his foster mom but after being cage bound for well over a decade his chest muscles are redeveloping. Otherwise Grape is very independent and enjoys hanging out on top of his cage or in a ray of sunshine. He will step up if he flutters to the floor and, on his own terms, will step up on a towel from anywhere else. One of his favorite activities is sitting with his foster mom while she eats bird safe fruits and veggies, so he can try them all. Grape is still figuring out what toys are and so far prefers playing with a chain toy and is starting to understand wooden blocks.

Overall Grape is an amazing bird who would love a calm forever home that will allow him the independence he wants while filling his day with grapes and smiles.

He has been disease tested for PBFD and Chlamydia. Grape will be adopted with his cage, disease test results, toys and food to get is forever home started. 

Grape is being fostered in Bloomfield, NJ and will only be adopted to a forever home within driving distance, we do not ship our birds. For the Love of Birds is a group of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA - we do not have a central location. As Grape is living in a volunteer's home, we only allow approved applicants to make visits.
