African Grey : : Female
Hatch date: 2005 Roxanne is on a fruited ZuPreem diet with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Her favorites are green grapes, blackberries, snap peas, and broccoli. She likes to toss her chop out of her bowl and then forage for it on the bottom of her enclosure. She also loves splashing in her water bowl. Roxanne is a very independent, and stubborn girl who is very often LOUD. She is very skeptical of new people, especially men. It is preferred that her primary caregiver be female, and she is adopted into an adult-only household. She will solicit beak pets and head scratches from her foster mom when inside her enclosure. Her go-to phrases are "what's going on," "good morning" and "I love you." Otherwise, she does imitate smoke alarm beeps very often throughout the day. She loves hanging out on perches outside her cage or on top of her enclosure but can sometimes be coaxed off onto a nearby table with pistachio. Roxanne will step up for her foster mom if she does venture off the cage but will not step up when in her cage. Once she does step up, she will accept head scratches. She is fully flighted but will generally only take flight if spooked. As previously mentioned, Roxanne is very independent and takes time to earn her trust. If you are a forever home that can appreciate that, please complete an adoption application for her. She will NOT be adopted to a home with a male CAG. Roxanne is being fostered in Parsippany, NJ, and will only be adopted to a forever home within easy driving distance. Other Pictures of Roxanne (click to see larger version):
