Skittles is a 16 year old ,Black Capped Caique.
He is believed to be male.
As is common of his species, Skittles is high energy, a clown and can be loud. 

Skittles loves being out of his cage and hanging out with the family. At his foster home, he goes to both his foster mom and dad equally.  
He is content hanging out on a play stand, hand or perch.
Skittles can entertain himself, but likes being in the middle of the action with his family. 

When Skittles is in his cage and hears people, he will call out for attention.
He does usual caique calls, but also makes interesting jungle animal sounds.
His foster mom visited Peru several years ago to see parrots in the Amazon, and that is what she thought of when she heard Skittles cool sounds. 

Skittles will step up onto your hand or a perch.
He is very good about stepping up when he wants to go with you.
He is not so good when he wants to stay right where he is.
So, Skittles will need understanding and patience when you want him to go back in his cage or to relocate him, but he has other ideas.
Patience and sweet talk has worked for his foster mom so far.

Skittles is being fostered in Manalapan, NJ and will only be adopted to a home within driving distance; we do not ship our adoptable birds.
