Jeannie is a Female , 6 year old African Grey Congo
She prefers to interact with females and has shown some interest in Males
not interested in children.
She is a VERY curious bird .
She is a good flyer , and will she will fly around looking for you if you leave
her on her cage to long .
If you don't hold your hand above your head to let her land, she will
choose your head instead lol
She enjoys landing on table tops , counter tops , desks, etc .
And will need to be strongly supervised.
If she is left on her own , and not supervised , she will definitely destroy something .
Pens are a fav of hers, so put them safely away ;)
Great eater , fresh food is a big deal with this lady .
She also eats pellets, and some seed as a treat.
Not a big talker .
She does say some words , sounds like a deep voice when she talks .
If you are hoping to find a Grey that will engage in conversations with you ,
this is not that bird.
Hand tame, with a little encouragement , loves head and neck scratches , and
and has learned how to rest on your shoulder (that tends to keep her out
of trouble ;)
She is a bit shy, but learns to trust after being around new people.
Doing much better with stepping up for both the foster mom, and the dad .
Does well in a home with other birds, not looking for a buddy, but also not aggressive
towards them either.
We will NOT place her in a home with
a Male Grey.
There are dogs in the foster home, and she seems ok with their occasional barking
and not threatened when they are walking around beneath her.
Jeannie is being fostered in Leonardo, NJ and will only be adopted to someone that is
willing to drive to do the required visits.
We will NOT ship our birds.

As our adoptable birds are living in volunteer homes, or in their family's home, we only allow approved applicants to meet our birds.
