Lovebird : : Male : : Small
Hatch Dates - Tweeter 2010 or earlier and Jewel 2017 Jewel & Tweeter are the sweetest little Lovebirds. They are a bonded pair and both believed to be male, but they have not been DNA sexed. They enjoy hopping around from perch to perch, playing with their toys and cleaning their beaks as they go about their day. When their foster lets them out, they get very excited and vocal! They enjoy flying up to high places and checking out their new surroundings. After being in their foster home for a month, they flew to their foster mom's leg for the first time to hang out with her. They are not hand tame, but they're getting used to their foster family and are fine around small dogs. Jewel is the fearless leader, he is always the one who makes the first move. Tweeter pretty much follows Jewel around. If Jewel flies to the opposite end of the room, Tweeter is right behind him, almost like he's saying, "Don't leave me behind, boss!" Tweeter is timid, but he's curious and very much enjoys the company of people when you sit next to their cage. They have shown interest in veggies, including broccoli, celery, lettuce and carrots. They love millet and will eventually go back to their cage if you put millet right by their cage door. Jewel and Tweeter have been disease tested and will be adopted with their cage, supplies and food to get their forever home started. They are being fostered in Summit, NJ and will require two in-person visits before adoption; we do not ship our adoptable birds. For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA. As our adoptable birds are living in volunteer homes, we only allow approved adopters to make the required visits. If interested in adopting Tweeter and Jewel please visit our website ftlob.rescuegroups.org and read our adoption policies, feeds and to complete an adoption application.
