This little female parakeet was found outside in Newark NJ and luckily a good Samaritan was able to catch her. 

When first arriving at her foster home she was a very quiet and gentle girl who would step up very nicely for her foster mom. 

Now that she is settled, she is a very spunky gal who loves playing with toys - shredables and bells are her favorite. She also loves chatting with her new bird housemates. As her confidence is growing she loves coming out of her enclosure and flying! Now that she is eating regularly it is apparent that she has a growth on her chest, about the size of a marble. We are hoping that will continued exercise the growth will reduce.

She has not been a fan of eating fresh fruits, vegetables or pellets but Newark's foster mom is continuing to offer them.

Newark the Parakeet is being fostered in Parsippany, NJ and will only be adopted to a forever home within driving distance. For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated private foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA, we do not have a central location. As our adoptable birds are living in our volunteers' private homes, only approved applicants are allowed visit.
