NEW UPDATE :

Luna and Mellow are still very happy and chirping away.
They are still a little wary of hands but I’ve been working with them daily so they “step up” on my hand to leave the cage and now working with them to hop on to “go home” as well.  
They do understand both, and “go home” will trigger them to fly back.

Of the 2 Mellow is more “open” to a bit more handling. She is the better flier and does endless laps. But of the 2 Luna is more curious and flies farther afield and explores a bit more compared to Mellow who just circles some loops but always goes back to the cage. Luna enjoys flying into my brother's room, especially for some reason. 

The whole day they are happily chirping away, singing. And they sometimes like to sing along to music too/ and love to chatter a lot when people are talking in a way joining the conversation. It’s very cute.

Luna (Blue) DNA Male and Mellow (Yellow) DNA Female.
They are a bonded pair and will be adopted out together.
 
Mellow is, as the name implies, quite chill and mellow. 
Luna is a little chatty lunatic of the two.

Always talking, singing, and chattering up a storm. 

Mellow just kind of sits there having her ears talked off
with the occasional chirp.
They get along with each other, play, bicker, and
groom each other as well. 
They are a little bit food-protective, so they need their own bowls
(there are 3 food bowls in their cage).
They are curious and like to come near people but on their own terms. 
 
Luna doesn’t seem to like handling too much, though was
semi-hand-tame in the past. 
Mellow is cautious around people.  
 
Both love seed (a bit too much) and their foster mom has
been working on pellet conversion with mixed success. 
Birdy bread seems to be a good way to make it work.
Broccoli and baby carrots are preferred non-standard bird food treats. 
Millet is always very appreciated, but used sparingly, mostly
when trying to work with them.
 
Their foster mom has been working with them individually with -
Step-up Luna or Step-up Mellow. 
Addressing each by name to try to get them more comfortable
knowing who she is working with.  
She has also been working on “go home” as a specific
phrase for when it’s time to go back to their cage, 
though they tend to go back without issue.
More just to get them used to it. 

Millet offered will always help :) 

They love flying around together and sometimes fly in
circles around the living room in unison, it’s quite cute. 
They do prefer to kind of observe from the top of their cage. 
Again, Luna is the crazy, fun one who chatters the whole
time when in or out of the cage. 
 
Luna and Mellow have been DNA tested, as well as
disease tested for Chlamydia and PBFD.
They are being fostered in Lake Hiawatha, NJ, and will
only be adopted by someone that is willing to
drive to do the required visit. 

We will NOT ship our birds.

For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes
throughout NJ and Eastern PA, we have no central location. 
Our birds are living in Private homes, and we only allow
approved applicants to meet our birds.
