Birdo is a calm, timid guy. He prefers a low energy home without young children as he does still spook easily. 

He is currently in foster with dogs, cats and birds and is not phased by any of them. He focuses all of his attention on his foster parents and loves hanging out on their shoulders or heads. He will run around on the couch when supervised. 

Birdo is especially skilled at climbing stairs! As such it is prefered that a low-energy home be better for him to avoid him being trampled. 

He is generally quiet however when excited or when he demands attention, he will let out a continuous honk. 

Birdo is a picky eater - he is not a fan of pellets and will only have fresh food when on his enclosure's play top. He does have a great appetite for fresh food (again, only when on his play top - he will not eat fresh food while inside his enclosure) - green grapes, bananas, snap peas and carrots are his current favorites. 

Birdo is hand tame and will step up when he is in the mood, which is almost all of the time.

Birdo has been disease tested and will be adopted with his cage, all that is inside and food to get his forever home started.  

 

Birdo is being fostered in Parsippany, NJ,  and will only be adopted to a
forever home within driving distance.
We will NOT ship our birds.
For the Love of Birds is a group of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA - we do not have a central location.
Birdo is living in a volunteer's private home; we only allow approved applicants to make visits.
