Hatch Date: Marley - 2019 and Tequila - 2018?
Marley and Tequila are a pretty awesome bonded pair that will be adopted together.
Marley is a Pineapple Conure and Tequila is a yellow Parakeet.
They are both males and are approximately 4 years old.
Marley is hand-tame but requires lots of patience and understanding as you work with him.
Typical Conure, that will run all over you if you let him ;)
He can be nippy at times and needs someone that is familiar with Conure behavior.
He really enjoys his alone time with his foster mom.
Tequila is more independent but will call out if you take Marley away for any length of time.
Professional flyer Tequila is, and sometimes hovers like a helicopter :D
They enjoy their out-of-cage time in the morning and evening.
Both are flyers, however, they have become accustomed to hanging out in and on their
cage and only take an occasional flight for exercise.
Marley very much loves being with his person and seems to be more of a woman’s bird, yet will also tolerate men. Tequila will occasionally fly and land on your head or shoulder with Marley, but for the most part, stays in the cage.
The foster home has other small birds, and Tequilla is thrilled to visit them on their cages.
Tequila likes to try and make new friends.
Their foster mom is working on getting Tequila to perch, he will at times,but for the most part,
he just does what he wants, when he wants.
We’ve discovered that Marley needs solid structure in order to not get overstimulated, which leads to nipping and moodiness.
With lots of patience and time, he will definitely form a long-lasting bond with his new owner.
He is also very trainable and has begun to learn to spin and step up in just a week’s time.
Marley is very inquisitive and a smart Conure for sure!
This pair will make a loving addition to any bird-loving home.
Both Marely and Tequila are hearty eaters and love broccoli, mango, apple, blueberries,
scrambled egg, and lots of other healthy treats and seeds.
They are being fostered in Leonardo, NJ.
For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA.
We have no central location.
You must be within driving distance to make required visits and to adopt.
We will NOT ship our birds.
As our adoptable birds are living in volunteer homes, or in their family home,
we only allow approved applicants to meet our birds.
