Parrot Other : : Adult
Hatch Date: 2016
Koda is a very loving and personable 7-year-old Canary Winged Bee Bee.
He is believed to be male but has not been DNA sexed.
Koda is fully flighted but usually chooses to run instead of fly.
This means he needs strict supervision when out of the cage.
He loves dried papaya, apples, popcorn, and nuts, especially cashews, as treats.
Koda is a very loving bird but creates a strong bond with his person.
In his last home, he was very attached to the males in the family.
He is being fostered by a male who immediately bonded with him.
He wants to be on his person 24/7.
He loves to sit on the shoulder and just hang out while you are doing your everyday tasks.
Koda likes to snuggle under your chin, give kisses, and take a nap.
When he is with someone he is fond of, he makes small chirps and kissing sounds.
Koda can be very loud if you are not paying attention to him.
He likes to go to sleep as soon as the sun goes down.
In his foster home, his cage is covered at 7 PM and he is set for the night.
He doesn't want to be disturbed after that.
His foster home has a lovebird, but Koda has shown no interest in interacting. He is a scaredy cat and usually forgets that he is a bird and can fly.
This means he would do better in a home with no Cats and Dogs that could
be considered a threat to him.
Always trying to find alternate routes by climbing to get to the person he loves.
Koda is protective of his cage which means he gets a bit cranky if you are trying to bother
him when he is in it.
Koda would do best in a home where a male is the primary caregiver
and has lots of time to spend with Koda.
Koda has been disease-tested for psittacosis and PBFD. Koda is being fostered in Bensalem, PA, and will require two in-person visits before adoption.
We will not ship our birds.
For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA.
As our adoptable birds are living in volunteer homes, we only allow
approved adopters to make the required visits.
If interested in adopting Koda, please visit our website
