Cashmere is a stunning light gray and white cockatiel.  He has lived with one family his entire life, but his main caregiver passed away a few years ago. He shared his home with another cockatiel, Coal, but the two were in separate cages and didn't interact at all. They will be adopted out separately. 

Cashmere was kept in a small cage without toys for the past 4 years. In his foster home he was moved to a larger cage with lots of perches and toys. He mostly stays on a perch high in the cage and hasn't yet moved around much. He does play with a bell toy and watches the wild birds outside the window. 

Since he had not been out of his cage in years, he is a very erratic flyer. His foster mom clipped a few primary feathers on each wing so he wouldn't hurt himself when flying. He has not yet come out of his cage on his own, but once taken out he will sit on his foster mom or on a playstand. He is a skittish bird but is gentle. 

He has been disease tested for psittacosis and PBFD. He has also been DNA sexed male. 

Cashmere is being fostered in Manalapan, NJ will require and in-person visit before adoption; we do not ship our adoptable birds.
