Conure : : Female : : Adult : : Small
Hatch Date: 2018 Kiwi is a beautiful white-eyed conure. She will be six years old on August 13th. She has been DNA sexed female. While she is extremely entertaining, she can be on the timid side. She is often content with playing with the toys in her cage. She would strongly benefit from socialization and training. Kiwi would be inclined to spend more time outside her cage if she built a trusting relationship with someone with the time and patience.
Kiwi has a big personality! She loves to mimic her mom's sounds, words, kisses and even laughing. On occasion, you will hear her cracking up with laughter! She says, "hello" and "step up" clearly. Other words are not as easy to understand.
She can be loud, especially when she hears her family's dogs barking or someone comes to the door. On the other hand, she is not fearful of being around the dogs and seems comfortable around them.
Kiwi is fully flighted, but does not fly much or very far. She loves to sit on her favorite person's shoulder, be snuggled, or have her head scratched. However, as with all birds, she does not immediately trust a new person and may bite if startled or scared.
She loves music and will bob her head up and down to it. She especially loves the piano.
Kiwi loves to eat her Todd Marcus pellets and will eat fresh fruit as well.
She is quiet after dark and is a good sleeper. Kiwi does not require her cage to be covered
Kiwi has been disease tested for psittacosis and PBFD, and they came back negative.
