Lola is a sweet female, budgie who is at least 3 years old, but her hatch date is unknown. She was purchased 3 years ago with a cage mate she just didn't seem to bond with.
Prior to coming to her foster home, she laid eggs regularly, but this has stopped completely since she arrived in foster care 2 months ago. She is eager to work with her foster mom in exchange for millet, but is still nervous, as she wasn't handled in her prior home. She has made great progress with target training in the two months she's been in foster care, and may be a great budgie for someone who wants a single bird to spend time with them.
She could possibly join a flock of female budgies, but she seems to be more of a loner when with her former cage mate and the foster family's pet budgie. That said, when treats are involved, she can be as bossy as any budgie and make sure she gets her share!
Lola eats a healthy diet of pellets and chop. She only has seeds and millet as treats in exchange for training and hand taming.
She has been disease-tested for Psittacosis and PBFD.
Lola is being fostered in Cherry Hill, NJ. We do not ship our birds.
