Gino is a 5-year-old dazzling Sun Conure, with a sweet personality to match his beautiful plumage!
This guy came from a good home, but they felt that he wasn’t getting ample time outside of the cage, hence his yearning to bond and be with his people. Gino loves cashews, and blueberries and has been trained to step up.
He will turn in a circle and go into his cozy bed. He wants nothing more than to be your shoulder buddy and will excitedly fly there when he spots you walking into the room. Otherwise, he likes to chill from his outdoor perch in the cage. When the cage is closed, he likes to chew his toys and ring a bell!
Gino vocalizes his typical Sun Conure squawk when he sees you, and it’s loud!
He is persistent but easily distracted with a treat or quick fix on your shoulder.
He likes his routine - gets covered at night and happily waits for his morning breakfast of seeds, pellets, and fresh fruit! Gino is a clean bird and likes to take a daily bath.
At his previous home, he preferred his female owner. In his foster home, he chose a male but easily allowed both to handle him. He comfortably resides in an active house with kids, dogs, and another bird. He is curious about the other bird and follows his direction (Gino copies/mimics whatever the other bird is doing)
but mostly loves people.
Gino has a lot of love to give and is looking for a forever home where he can receive lots of attention!
Gino has been disease-tested for chlamydia and PBFD and is currently being fostered in Worcester, PA.
He will only be adopted to a forever home within driving distance. We will NOT ship our birds.
For the Love of Birds is a group of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA - We do not have a central location. Gino is living in a volunteer's private home; we only allow approved applicants to make visits.
