Jett is a very handsome 1 year-old Black-capped Conure.  

He has been disease tested and DNA tested Male. 

 

We have been working with him on trusting and becoming more hand-tame, and he is slowly making progress. He definitely has the potential of become an amazing companion for the right family.  Jett will do best in a  family with older children and lots of patience and understanding.  He is a baby, but he is a Conure after all, with quite the little blossoming personality.   Each day he seems more and more comfortable with the presence of hands.  

We have discovered that some of his favorite snacks are Cashews, Apples, Grape Nuts, Millet of course...and Birdy Bistro.  

 

Jett enjoys taking daily baths in his water bowl, as staying handsome and bright is one of his top priorities!  ;) 

 

Jett is becoming more and more vocal in the mornings and evenings mainly, but that just proves that he loves to be part of the flock and is a happy little guy. 

Right now, he has two cockatiels and a Cockatoo keeping him company and he will sometimes even screech to shut them up.  

It's quite funny!  Otherwise, he is very quiet and mainly keeps to himself playing with and shredding his toys.  

 

Jett loves to snuggle up under his rope toy before bedtime and will most of the time allow scratches on his head while doing this.  He is  learning to trust more and more each day.  He will also eat out of our hands and take treats from us nicely.  We are still working with him on stepping up.  He hasn't grasped that concept just yet, but he will soon.   

 

Jett is being fostered in Hillsborough, NJ.
