Headline: Wanted: Human with Nimble Fingers & a Sense of Humor for Senior Cockatoo Extraordinaire! (Royersford, PA)

Hey there, future best friend! My name is Peanut, and I'm a 36 (or maybe 38, who's counting?) year-old Goffin's Cockatoo with a personality as vibrant as my white feathers (with a hint of pink on top and yellow on the bottom). My foster family calls me a "sweet old boy," but they also lovingly admit I can be "a little bit of a stinker." I prefer the term "entertainingly unpredictable."

What you get with Peanut:

  • Peak Health & Handsome Looks: For a senior dude, I'm in tip-top shape! My secret? A gourmet diet of chop, Tops pellets, and a few in-shell almonds for when I'm feeling fancy.

  • The Soundtrack of Your Life: I make the   cutest little noises! Sure, there are a few squawks mixed in – a guy’s gotta express himself – but I’m not one of those constant screamers you might expect from a cockatoo. My vocalizations are more "charming background ambiance" than "ear-splitting alarm."

  • Master of Dance & Dapper Walks: When I'm out of my cage, get ready for a performance! I love to dance on top of my castle or prance across the floor with a walk so adorable it makes humans giggle. Even in my cage, I’m known for my happy hops and dances. No fuss here!

  • Professional Cuddler (with a catch): Okay, so "stepping up" isn't my strong suit. I'm more of a "gently encourage me onto your hand and then prepare for snuggles" kind of guy. But once I'm there? Oh, the cuddles are divine . And pin feather picking? YES, PLEASE. That's the good stuff.

  • An Independent Spirit: I don't need to be the center of attention 24/7. I'm pretty good at keeping myself entertained.

What Peanut needs (aka The "Honest" Part):

  • A Solo Pet Palace (Mostly): I'm not really a fan of other birds or animals. Full disclosure: in my previous home, I had a scandalous love affair with   one specific cat . It was a whole thing. This shouldn't have been allowed, as the cat might have injured me. So, while I prefer to be your one-and-only animal companion, maybe a very special cat could be negotiated if they understand I'm the star. No guarantees, though!

  • Understanding of My "Artistic Temperament": Sometimes, especially when I’m hanging out on the Java tree, I can go from hot to cold a bit easily. Think of me as a passionate artist – my moods are just part of my charm! A little patience goes a long way.

  • Commitment & Multiple Dates: I'm looking for my forever flock, and that's a big deal! My foster family in Royersford, PA, will require multiple visits to make sure we're a perfect match.

Why Peanut is Worth It:  Honestly? Because my quirky personality will make your family laugh every single day. I’m a sweet, affectionate bird who, despite a few endearing eccentricities, has so much love to give to the right person. I sleep well, eat well, and I’m ready to dance my way into your heart.

If you're looking for a companion who is equal parts sweet, silly, and a tiny bit sassy, and you're ready for the unique joy of a Goffin's Cockatoo, then I might just be your Peanut.

He will only be adopted into a forever home within driving distance.  We will NOT ship our birds. For the Love of Birds is a group of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA. We do not have a central location.  Peanut is living in a volunteer's private home. We only allow approved applicants to make visits.
