The Distinguished Gentleman: Bogie Seeks His Forever Home

Seeking a loyal companion? Bogie, a truly sweet and spirited Yellow Naped Amazon estimated to be 40-50 years young, is ready to find his devoted human(s).

This distinguished gentleman is living proof that age is truly just a number. Bogie may have had a less-than-ideal start with his diet and spent too much time in a travel cage that served as his everyday home, but he was always well-loved, and it shines through in his incredibly affectionate and resilient nature. In his foster home, he's embracing a new lease on life, enjoying spa days (he absolutely adores baths!). His feather condition is also improving beautifully with his new diet of fresh chop and a mix of Tops and Roudybush pellets. He's also discovering the joys of playtime with toys, and growing stronger and more playful with each passing day.

Bogie is full of quiet energy; you'll often hear his soft, sweet chirps and chatty sounds, a constant, comforting presence, but never any screeching. He's a true "sport," adjusting beautifully to new environments, and his charmingly predictable morning routine (sprinting for breakfast on the floor, then a well-deserved nap!) is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.

While he can be a little wobbly on his feet and has a slight fatty liver, Bogie is otherwise a very healthy boy making great strides. He just needs a home with soft landings at the bottom of his cage and low perches outside of it to keep him safe as he continues to build strength. Interestingly, Bogie shows a particular fondness for male companionship, often preferring to be handled by his foster dad. That said, he's a remarkably gentle soul and will even let the kids pet or hold him.

Bogie arrived with an overgrown beak and nails, which were trimmed at his intake vet visit. He'll need another shape-up to finish the job, as he was getting a little nervous with the dremel. He had a physical and blood tests performed by an avian vet.

Bogie’s former owner passed away, and while heartbreaking, it has opened a new chapter for this special bird. His two aunts, Karen and Kay, would absolutely love to stay in touch with his new family. For them, Bogie is the last living part of their beloved brother, and they've truly enjoyed connecting with him and seeing him thrive and learn new things in his foster home.

With this continued care—a healthy diet, a spacious and enriching environment, and that final beak trim—Bogie has so much life and love to give. If you're a patient, kind individual, perhaps a gentleman yourself, ready for a loyal, entertaining, and incredibly affectionate feathered friend, Bogie might just be your perfect match!

Bogie has been disease tested for Chlamydia and PBFD.

Bogie is located in a foster home in Royersford, PA.
