About Rudy

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Bird
  • General Color: Green
11/11/15- Rudy is too adorable. His personality is blossoming now that he is comfortable in his new surroundings. He has gotten much more verbal and lets us know when he wants to hang out with the family. He is also starting to fly. He has flown downstairs to me from the top of the stairs and today flew off the tree stand to my husband sitting on the couch. He can’t fly far or get much height, but he is making improvement. I guess he just needed time and practice to be able to fly. He spends most of his day on the tree stand in my living room or on my shoulder. I discovered I cannot wear earrings when he is around. He thinks they are the best toy. He still mostly eats only his seed/pellet/dried fruit mix, but I constantly offer him food when he is on my shoulder, and he has been more and more willing to try different things. Rudy is totally a delight. Rudy is a beautiful, full feathered, Green Cheek Conure. We are told he is three years old and has already been in 2 homes. His last home had to tearfully part with him due to medical reasons and his first home also had a personal crisis. Rudy was dearly loved by both of his former homes, but had to be rehomed due to no fault of his own. Rudy is ready to and deserves to settle into a forever home. He is a sweet boy (unsure of sex) and is very social. He is a little hesitant and reserved, but readily steps up from him cage, bird stand and the floor. He has stayed on my shoulder for hours as I walk around the house or clean and service the bird cages. He appears to be a social family bird and will readily step up from me to my husband, or adults daughter or son. I get the feeling there is no one he wouldn't like. I do think part of his hesitancy has to do with the fact that he is severely clipped and drops like a lead balloon. I think once he is able to fly better he will get some confidence back. He talks although it is difficult to make out what he is saying. Rudy would be a wonderful family companion. Complete an application and come meet Rudy today.
