Kevin is a 6 year old Turquoise Green Cheek Conure who is looking for his next forever home. Kevin is participating in our Help with Rehoming Program where he stays with his current family while For the Love of Birds networks on his behalf. His current family reviews approved applications and has final say on who they would like to adopt Kevin. 
 

Such a big personality in a little fella. 

He is smart, playful, feisty and loving. 

He absolutely loves to get out of his cage and explore. 

He takes a little bit to warm up to new people but once he feels comfortable he loves to hang out on your shoulder while you do the dishes or vacuum or even work from home. 

He will have a high pitched screech, often when he's excited and sometimes when he is startled  

 

He does NOT like balloons, even the sight of them he will screech.

He will mimic and whistle back if you engage him. 

Kevin can talk and will repeat some common phrases you might use around your house - currently he can say "stop it" because he hears me say that to my dogs when they are barking like crazy!!! 

He loves to play with bells and toys in his cage but they do need to be changed out often because he gets bored with them. 

Having his wings and nails trimmed is not his favorite thing to do but he tolerates an experienced groomer. 

Kevin loves to wash up in his water bowl right after you refresh with cool water. 

His diet is made up of several parts - Lafeber Nutriberries -(he enjoys the classic or fruit types), fresh fruits and veggies, as well as pellets; Pretty Bird or Zupreem. 

Kevin wants to be where the action is. 

He will not do well in a room alone. 

He likes to be in the main area of the home where most of the activity is happening all day. 

His bedtime is usually around 9 or 930. 

He has been covered at night to give him the rest and privacy he needs after a long day of activity and family-watching.  

 

Experienced bird owners only. 

Children are ok IF they are older and the family has a lot of bird experience.  The person/family that he is looking for is someone who is kind and sweet, patient and knowledgeable and has time to devote to this fella as a forever home.  

 

Kevin is currently living in Tinton Falls and will only be adopted to someone within driving distance after they have been approved by FTLOB and Kevin's current family. Three in person visits are requred before adoption. We do not ship our birds.
