Conure : : Female : : Senior : : Medium
Hatch Date: 2001 Goldie is a 20 year old female Gold Capped / Jenday Conure hybrid. She has lived with one family her entire life. Sadly, they must now rehome her. Goldie has lived the past 13 years with her 13 year old brother Baby. They used to share the same cage, but he started picking on her and they separated and now each have their own cage. Baby has come into our rescue as well to be rehomed. They can be adopted out to different homes. Goldie may be plucked, but she is a sweetheart. She has always been very social and likes hanging out with the humans in her flock. She has only been in her foster home for a few days, and has already started flying to her foster mom's shoulder when the cage door is open. She also likes to dance and is quite fancy dancer. Goldie started plucking her chest and leg feathers approximately 10 years ago. She was examined by an avian vet who said that it is due to anxiety. It appears that she damaged her feather follicles and her feathers will not grow back. Even still, she is adorable! Goldie can be loud as can all conures of her species. Goldie is being fostered in Manalapan, NJ and will only be adopted to a home within driving distance; we do not ship our adoptable birds. For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster home throughout NJ and Eastern PA, we have no central location. As our adoptable birds are living in volunteer homes, we only allow approved applicants to meet our birds. If interested in meeting Goldie please review our adoption policies and complete an adoption application on our website ftlob.rescuegroups.org. Other Pictures of Goldie (click to see larger version):
