Val is a 30-year-old Umbrella Cockatoo, believed to be female.
She looks like an angle and that is just what she is. 

She has been in her current home for 20 years. 

She recently went to the vet for a wellness visit and she appears to be in good health  
Healthy weight and choana with pointy papillae.  

She is on a healthy diet of ZuPreem fruit pellets and for breakfast she eats a variety of fruit such as bananas, peaches, apples, pasta and some vegetables.

She is a very sweet and loving bird.  
Val is very calm for a cockatoo. 
She is also relatively quiet. 

Her feathers are a bit disheveled.
Her family has not seen her pluck or chew on her feathers.

She enjoys all family members and seems to like everyone. 
She bonds quickly.  

She does not have much of a vocabulary but will make sounds like a chicken, rooster and other bird sounds.  

Val likes to play with bird toys such as ropes, leather, bells, and she likes to chew on cardboard.  
Val has a very pleasant personality and never quick to bite. 
Val likes to be held, get kisses and scratches. 
She also likes to climb out of her cage and hang out on the flat play top.

Although she shares a room with an amazon and a cockatiel, she does not interact with either of them. 
We do not know how she would or wouldn't interacting with other birds.

Val is participating in our Help With Rehoming program and is in her owner's home in Manalapan, NJ.   
She will only be adopted to a home within driving distance
We will NOT ship our birds.

As our adoptable birds are living in volunteer homes, or in their family's home, we only allow approved applicants to meet our birds.
