Budgie/Budgerigar : : Female : : Small
Xena is a beautiful, active, female parakeet, who was named aptly after the Warrior Princess. Xena was spotted eating in the bird feeder of a concerned homeowner. The homeowner saw Xena escape two swallows, empty out their nest from a birdhouse, and take it over herself. She stayed and survived there for two months, but the homeowner called us for help catching Xena, because temperatures were starting to drop at night. Xena has become less skittish and much more comfortable around hands, and her foster mom is working toward getting her to step up. Xena enjoys the company of the birds in her room, so she will only be adopted out as a companion to another budgie or similar size bird. Xena is being fostered in Howell, NJ.
We do not ship our adoptable birds.
You must live within driving distance to meet and adopt birds.
For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA.
As our adoptable birds are living in volunteer homes, we only allow approved
adopters to make the required visits.
If interested in adopting Xena, please visit our website ftlob.rescuegroups.org and read our adoption policies, fees, and
