Fritz is a 5 yr old Brown Headed Parrot.  He is believed to be male but has not been DNA tested. 

He has lived alone with his dad all his life.  Unfortunately, his dad recently passed unexpectedly, and he found himself in need of a new home.  In his old home, he had free rein of the house.  He only went to the cage to eat and sleep. We were told he chewed on some baseboards in his old home so he should be supervised when out of his cage. 

In his foster home, he lives with a Lovebird and a cat.  He has shown some interest in the Lovebird but has displayed no aggression.  Fritz is in a large cage most of the day and is let out at night when his foster dad gets home from work.  He goes to bed at 7:00 PM and sleeps through the night.  He sleeps in a hanging tent in his cage.  He doesn’t seem to have much interest in toys so far, but will chew on wooden toys occasionally.  He is currently on a seed mixture diet.  His foster dad is introducing pellets into his diet. He likes cashews and crackers as treats but hasn’t expressed any interest in veggies and fruit. 

Fritz is a very tame bird and steps up easily.  He loves all the head and beak scratches.  If you stop scratching him or fall asleep, he will wake you up with kisses on your face.  He makes a lot of interesting noises but is not a loud bird at all. His wings are currently clipped, and he cannot fly at all.  

Fritz (AKA Emanon) has been disease-tested for psittacosis and PBFD.  Fritz is being fostered in Bensalem, PA, and will require two in-person visits before adoption.  We will not ship our birds.
