Coal is a beautiful gray and white cockatiel. He has lived with one family his entire life, but his main caregiver passed away a few years ago. He shared his home with another cockatiel, Cashmere, but the two were in separate cages and didn't interact at all. They will be adopted out separately. 

Coal was kept in a small cage without toys for the past 4 years. In his foster home he was moved to a larger cage with lots of perches and toys. He mostly stays on a swing in the cage. He will climb around to get to his food and water bowls. He also likes his millet treat.  

Since he had not been out of his cage in years, he is a very erratic flyer. His foster mom clipped a few primary feathers on each wing so he wouldn't hurt himself when flying. When his foster mom opens the cage Coal will usually fly out within a couple of minutes. Once out of his cage he will readily step up on hands. He will then hang out on a playstand. Coal chirps when he hears or sees people. 

He has been disease tested for psittacosis and PBFD. He has also been DNA sexed male. 

Coal is being fostered in Manalapan, NJ and will require an in-person visit before adoption; we do not ship our adoptable birds.
