Hatch Date: February 2018 Andy is a Green Cheek Conure.
His sex is unknown, but he is believed to be male.
He is almost 7 years old and was surrendered because his previous owners did not have the time
or energy to take on the responsibility of a bird.
Andy has quite the personality and loves being out of the cage.
He is skilled at flying, though he does not do it often.
He enjoys baths and is very chatty.
He can be screechy sometimes.
Andy loves hanging out on his foster mom's shoulders and enjoys head scratches occasionally.
He has shown a preference for women and does not seem to like the men in his foster home.
He does, however, seem to tolerate younger male family members.
Andy would do best in a calmer environment with women, as he can get excited easily.
He will also bite if he is feeling overwhelmed, which is common for parrots.
Green Cheeks are often nippy.
His foster family will leave him on his cage for a bit until he is ready to interact again.
He currently eats a pellet and seed diet and enjoys carrots, apples, and bananas. Andy is very sweet and is looking for a loving forever home that can give him the love, and attention he deserves! Andy has been disease-tested for chlamydia and PBFD (beak and feather disease) Andy is being fostered in Newtown, PA.
He will require in-person visits before adoption.
We do not ship our birds.
For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA.
As our adoptable birds are living in private volunteer homes, we only allow approved adopters to make the required visits.
